Real-Estate Application (Job)

Front-End Developer

This was a terrible experience. I met these guys off of Craigslist, and they were underwater. There was a salesman and a server guy. They passed the reigns to me, and I began working. I sent emails almost daily, with my progress.

I got to the stage of installing it on the server, and the server-side guy didn't understand it, but he refused to talk on the phone about it. He only wanted to email. He threw up his hands and refused to work on it.

It turned out that he hadn't been reading the emails. I had dozens of hours in it at this point. There were plenty of problems with what I had produced... definitely. But after the not reading, and the casting it aside, I left the project.

What I Learned

I learned how important reading communications is, and how important it is to ask questions when you don't understand something. I pressure myself to do this out of the golden rule. I strive to not act as if I already know it all... and to question myself.
